Sophie Elliott

I began my career in 2017, working in a well known inpatient facility here in Utah, helping high net worth clients with acute substance use disorders find their way towards context for their addiction. It was my background in journalism (my former career) that informed my approach to helping these clients get their stories out. Just by asking to next logical question, their timelines came to life in ways that brought "aha moments" to the light.

Alongside them, I experienced my own "aha moment". I returned to higher education, at the University of Utah where I interned at the YWCA/Family Justice Center of SLC, serving victims of domestic violence and their children in a case management capacity.

I also worked for the Huntsman Mental Health Institute, doing individual and group therapy with clients from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, adolescents to senior citizens.
